Nicole Southworth

Established Australian artist, Nicole Southworth, grew up in southern Sydney in the Sutherland Shire and developed a love of visual art as a young child.

By the age of 19, she was exhibiting her oil paintings in prominent galleries in Sydney. Nicole held her first solo exhibition at the age of 21 in the eastern suburbs of Sydney, and has had many solo exhibitions since.

“I am predominantly a landscape oil painter, enjoying bush and coastal scenes. My landscapes are influenced by many past and present Australian landscape artists, as well as the impressionist and post-impressionist movements.. Of particular interest to me, is the use of colour, light and movement in our unique Australian landscape – often the natural landscape but just as often with glimpses of the presence of urbanisation within the landscape”.

Commission include: The Spanish Embassy in Sydney, Colonial First State, GIO, Qantas,  Ansett, Sutherland Hospital, Trinity Grammar School, Inaburra School, Shire Christian School, Australian Consulates in Toronto, Canada and New York, USA.

Artwork has been shown in Australian Artist Magazine and has featured in multiple articles in the St George and Sutherland Shire Leader.
